"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In less than 5 hours, a Black Lives Matter protest is staging in Ontario. We have talked to many people about this, including organizers, Charlie Gonzales and Quincy Sullivan, local law enforcement and city leaders as well as citizens, some of whom have called in after we posted the first article about the protest. We're happy to report that the unifying message from everyone is keeping the assembly peaceful.

In fact, the elected body of the City of Ontario has canceled its work session tonight, which was slated to begin at the same time as the protest. This is so the City Council members and city officials can offer support toward the peaceful demonstration, which is said to wind up at City Hall for a vigil for African-American George Floyd after leaving the Albertsons parking lot.

Those who are in Ontario wanting to join others across the nation who have been expressing their First Amendment right to peacefully assembly regarding police violence, will have their opportunity to do so from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.

Those who want to use the controversial death of Floyd, who died at the hand of a caucasian police officer, in Minnesota, as a platform for violence, destruction or rioting are asked by organizers, law enforcement and community members are asked to stay away.
